As the season winds down, it’s a great time to get creative with fruit bouquets, but the best ones are made with fresh, dried fruit.
And fresh fruit is easy to find.
But how do you make a homemade strawberry fruit cake?
The process is surprisingly simple, and it takes less than an hour, according to the official Strawberry Cake Recipe blog.
It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, Easter, and any time of year.
It tastes amazing and is great with ice cream, but don’t be afraid to use frozen strawberries.
You can make it ahead and reheat it for a second time.
Remove the top layer of fruit from the container.
Put it in a bowl or container with water and add the rest of the ingredients.
Add about a tablespoon of salt and about a teaspoon of sugar to the water.
Pour the water mixture into the container and cover it with plastic wrap.
Let it sit for at least an hour.
While it’s chilling, cut up a strawberry.
Cut it in half lengthwise.
Place the strawberry halves in the bowl of ice cream or ice cream mix and fill with the remaining water.
Cover with plastic and refrigerate for up to three days.
It will thicken and make the strawberry cake thicker.
Remove from the refrigerator, peel off the plastic wrap, and place in a freezer bag.
When you’re ready to bake, fill a baking sheet with the strawberry fruit and put it on a baking rack.
Use a spatula to cut the fruit into 1/4-inch squares.
Cover the top with a cake pan and bake for 30 minutes.
After it’s done, take it out and cool completely.
Let the strawberry fruits sit in the refrigerator for up on the counter for a few hours before eating.
