The world’s first truly sustainable fruit farming operation in Nigeria is growing fruit that looks and tastes as good as it tastes.
The Nigerian government has just announced that the first fruits from the project will be available in 2020.
The country has a population of around 1.5 billion people and has been trying to produce food for that ever since it signed the first of many agreements with the World Food Programme (WFP) to help farmers grow food in Africa.
Since then, it has created a number of successful fruit crops, including Kefalak, a vegetable that is the world-first to be grown entirely on the land, and Zirindi, a sweet-potato that is one of the world\’s first commercially grown tomatoes.
The project, which is part of the National Agriculture University, is located in Zirondi, where there is a thriving fruit trade.
“I came to Nigeria to work on this project,” said Zakaria Abdul-Qadir, the project manager and a PhD student at the University of Nigeria.
“It takes a long time to grow and harvest fruit, so this is a project that can last for a long period of time.””
The project has been launched to help feed the growing population of the country, which already accounts for half of Nigeria\’s population. “

In addition to the fruits that will be produced in the Zircal project, there are also plans to grow fruits for the general public, and the project is looking to produce a lot of them to help them get better access to healthy food.
The Zircals are also hoping to help people from the developing world, who are living on a diet that is high in sugar and salt, to make better use of the fruit.
“This is a very difficult project, but one that we believe will bring about huge change in Nigeria and in the lives of many people living here in Zircali,” Abdul- Qadir said.
“Our fruit is going to help many people, especially in the developing countries, to have access to more nutritious foods and to get a taste of what they can expect from their food.”
We want to build up the ZIRCAL fruit business as a national project, so we are looking to make this project as successful as possible.
“Abdul- Qaddir is hopeful that the fruit will help Nigeria attract more investors and help the country achieve its economic growth targets.
He said that he believes the fruits will have an impact on the local environment as well as the country\’s future, as it can help protect biodiversity and sustainably produce the fruit that will make the country more environmentally friendly.”
The fruit that we are growing in ZIRindi will help make Nigeria more environmentally sustainable and we believe it will also be a great boon for the local economy,” he said.”
As a farmer myself, I am happy to work in a sustainable way to make my land and the fruits here more sustainable.
